The ArchiCAD AAA Waiheke Tour: Revisited

13.jpg

Held at the end of March, the Waiheke Island tour brought together four unique takes on the New Zealand bach, covering a breadth of scales and budgets.

The houses included were the Local Rock House from Patterson’s Architects, Waiheke Island House by Mitchell & Stout, Fearon Hay‘s Headland House, and Blackpool House from Glamuzina Paterson. The tour was one of the largest in recent years, with 350 members shuttled between the four sites over the day.

We were lucky enough to catch one of the last scorching, cloudless days of summer, providing uninterrupted views across the Hauraki Gulf that many of the houses were designed for. Some members were even so fortunate as to glimpse a pod of orcas entering Oneroa Bay in the late afternoon.

Together with ticket sales and the sausage sizzle at the Headland House, kindly provided by the homeowners, we raised a significant sum of money which was donated to the Waiheke Homecare Hospice and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust.

We would like to give a special thank you to ArchiCAD and our ongoing sponsors for their generous support and of course a big thank you to the owners of all the homes.
